Hi, I recently got this Pest trap on my computer. I uninstall it, but it stays in my system tray and comes back. Can anybody help? Here is my log from hijackthis:

Please follow these steps:
1. Download LSP-fix and WinsockXPFix utilities. You will need them later.
2. Download Pocket KillBox or KillBox utility.
3. Open the Control Panel and launch the Add or Remove Programs tool. In the list of installed software find the PestTrap entry. Uninstall this program.
4. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:

5. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!
6. Once in Safe Mode, use either Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following files:

Also, delete the following directories:

C:\Documents and Settings\Dee\Local Settings\Temp\ICD6.tmp
7. Restart your computer. Then run one of these tools (you have downloaded them earlier): LSP-Fix, WinsockXPFix. This should repair your system and allow it to access the Internet.
8. Download and install the CCleaner program. Use it to clean your system from temporary files.
9. After you get done, restart your computer, run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here. |
