I was have trouble just like most here with this TV Media. Here is waht worked for me, off of the Microsoft Website that was posted above. I have taken the instructions and added a few notes. Good luck getting rid of this, I tried everything else posted here but this is what finally did the trick. Note: you should read the info on the Microsoft web site before doing this as you will be making mods to you registry and that can be a mess if you do the wrong thing.
To remove T.V. Media (TvMedia.tvmbho) manually, follow these steps.
Important Make sure that you follow the instructions very carefully and delete everything that is mentioned. Typically, the removal will fail if a single item is not deleted. If T.V. Media (TvMedia.tvmbho) remains on your computer after you complete the removal instructions, step through the instructions again.
Start your computer in Safe Mode.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate the following registry subkeys. Delete the TV Media entry for each subkey if the entry exists.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Explorer Browser Helper Objects {707E6F76-9FFB-4920-A976-EA101271BC25}
Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer in Safe Mode.
Click Start, click Run:
Type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
Remove T.V. Media. (It may not be there depending on what you have run while trying to remove it already)
On your desktop, double-click My Computer.
Locate the TV Media folder. By default, this folder is located in the C:Program Files folder. When you find it delete it. (If it is not there click start, search, type TV Media and click OK. Then delete the folder when found)
Restart your computer and feel the joy of having won the war on TV Media!

restart computer in safe mode... That's the F8 key during start up. Go to c:/program files and delete the folder named TV Media... Run regedit and follow this path HKey_Current_UsersSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentversionRunTVmedia and delete the start up tvmedia thingy... Restart pc and woo hoo it's gone

Unfortunately. none of the above solutions worked for my Windows XP SP2. I resovled by booting to Safe Mode DOS prompt. And deleted the TV Media files, then did a normal reboot. Uninstall via ADD/REMOVE Programs and make sure you delete any file relating to TV Media including in the recycle bin. Finally run Yahoo Companion's Anti-Spy.

I'm a tech for a corp. we run Win2k. I've tried SpySweeper and Spybot. We can't use Adaware because of licensing issues. It doesn't go away in Ad/Rem Prog. along with 5 or 6 other headache progs. We (computer users need to get together on this) and sue these people.

I have a Win2k laptop. I downloaded SpySweeper, disconnected the network connection and then ran it. That didn't work. I then rebooted the PC in safe mode and then reran SpySweeper. That seems to have got rid of it ... for now. This seems to make sense, the software knows what to do to the registry etc., it just can't do it when the PC is properly booted up. Good luck!

This bug is nasty, I am contacting the BBB and letting them know. This is just a small company not hiding their tracks. I hope they get slammed.

I have tried everything on this page to try and get rid of it (microsoft, ad aware, manual deleting in safe-mode, spysweeper) and they all failed (the microsoft auto one was the worst, said it didnt exist lol).
i found the answer on the Extreme Tech Support site, it was posted by Pingv.
this works on XP, with and without SP2
1. Open task manager, click processes tab, 'end task' explorer.exe (trust me).
2. Click new task in the applications tab in task manager and type in cmd ( to open DOS command window)
3. Type cd , then enter
4. Type cd program files , then enter
5. Type del "tv media", then enter (must have quotation marks)
6. Type rd "tv media", then enter (must have quotation marks)
7. Restart your pc and its gone!!!!
( i suggest you run ad aware (or similar) after to remove the now useless tv media registry keys, but they wont cause any trouble.

You may notice (i have) that TV Media will replace its registry startup values if removed. If you dont kill explorer of course, this is where this wonderful piece of poo is running. You can witness this simply by deleting the value in regedit, then press F5 to refresh, and BOOM watch it re-appear in the registry instantly. These guys should be banished to an eternity of a 14.4 modem with TV media installed, and a read only filesystem!

Rather than a class-action, try multiple, simultaneous lawsuits against the company and the individuals who are personally in charge. One class action gives them a single-front war. Getting attacked from, say 20 or thirty people at once is an assault that no small company can withstand – especially if even one lawsuit manages to freeze assets and effectively stop them from spending money on more lawyers for more lawsuits. Imagine facing a lawsuit with a court-appointed lawyer!
