Hi there, Just a quick one really. I’ve been speaking to Mcafee company about some protection for my laptop but he said there is a csrse.exe trojan downloaded on my network and is running on the system into the network. He said my Ip isn’t secure and there is unauthorized access detected on my device that I wasn’t aware of. Is there any software that can help with all this at all? The guy said it would cost me £500 to get this fixed which is a lot of money surely there is something out there to remove all this, please. Thanks, Soph

Unfortunately, all those claims that your device is at risk are true and the threat that was indicated as Csrss.exe trojan is one dangerous malware. Due to its presence, your device is not secure and may possibly perform poorly.
You need to get a powerful anti-malware program that can detect this virus and remove it. We can also recommend using a few different antivirus programs to double-check after each scan. However, you should get a licensed version of at least one of these tools because free versions possibly cannot remove malware of this severity. And that is not doing to cost you $500.
This is a trojan that can steal your personal information, open backdoors for attackers and so on. It also runs in the background without your notice. having this threat on the machine can lead to ransomware infections or even remote access attacks. So clean the system as thorough as possible.
