In an attempt to download Mozilla Firefox, I unintentionally got it from a rogue site, which then installed Vosteran malware on my computer. It took over my browser (IE10) and I had to download SpyHunter4 to get rid of it. However, there is still one thing going on: my default search engine still says “Google” but I can’t “Remove” it- and when I click on it in Manage Add-ons, it says the top result is “Vosteran.com”. Unless I click “disable top result”, my computer continues to use Yahoo as my default search engine despite it not being listed as my default (and the fact that the default program can’t be removed as per above)- so I am obviously still infected with it. How do I fix this? SpyHunter doesn’t seem to notice this problem.

It might be that you are dealing with the updated version of Vosteran, that's why Spyhunter failed to notice each of its malicious components. So, you should either update it and run for the second time or you can use Spyhunter's service, which is called 'Spyware helpdesk'. This service allows receiving a help from the professional technicians of this anti-spyware. For more information about that you can find here: What to do when Antispyware program fails to remove infection?

The best thing to do is to restore the computer to an earlier date. That may help.
The big issue is why the legitimate honest software companies, don't sell their software with REAL anti malware programming so these trespassers and obnoxious software intruders can't infect our computers. The act of attaching some virus or malware to a software installation packace should be a criminal offense. It is like stealing or trespassing. When will the computer business wake up and stop this practice? They know it is going on or they wouldn't be writing software to prevent it or eliminate it.
