1 Close Microsoft Edge.
2. Open Settings App.
3. Go to Apps -> Apps & Features.
4. Find Microsoft Edge entry.
5. Click on Microsoft Edge entry and click on “Advanced options” link below.
6. You will end up on the "Storage usage and app reset" page. Click "Reset" button.
7. You will receive a confirmation window. Click "Reset" again.
8. The browser should be reset now.

sorry but your recent advice didn't work. So I looked for further advices - and I found one:
It started similar to your method 2:Resetting Microsoft Edge browser (Method 2), see:

which was - in my case - not successful.
The new method started similar to yours, with one difference regarding powershell entrance::
• Get-AppXPackage -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}
You see. the address component "all users" is emitted here.

Another comment: You should give a hint, that after the cleaning procedure, the favorites are lost!
Last not least: Could you recommend an anti-virus-software which could detect malware like "error 0x80072ee7 spyware"?
I am using Avira free antivirus software, but after having experienced malwaer like "error 0x80072ee7 spyware", I think it is better to invest some money in a good antivirus software.
