I believe my computer got hit by a ransomware virus. All of my files are entirely corrupted – I can’t open them, my computer simply doesn’t find a program to open them with. on top of that, wcry file extensions were added. How can I remove .wcry extensions and make these files accessible again?

If your files seem corrupted and you can no longer open them, it means they have been encrypted. Many ransomware viruses append certain file extensions to corrupted files to make the victim quickly realize how many files were encrypted. At the moment, we cannot provide you with .wcry file decryption tools because currently there are none available. You can restore lost data from a backup - obviously if you have it.
