YapBrowser – adware and child porn

180solutions, the infamous adware distributor, got in a very unpleasant situation. ZangoSearch, one of the company’s products became associated with child porn.

The story begins with the discovery of YapBrowser, a pretty useless program made by “Engima Global Inc.”, a group of malicious spyware and adware makers. YapBrowser serves unsolicited, aggressive advertisements, redirects the user to undesirable web sites, modifies essential system settings, etc. In simple phrase, this product is designed to be illegally installed to user computers in order to make dirty money for spyware and adware pushers.

It must be noted that YapBrowser is bundled with the Zango software. Furthermore, it is installed directly from 180solutions servers. However, the most shocking fact is that YapBrowser redirects the user to abominable pornographic web sites – not common adult pages, but child porn resources!

It seems that spyware and adware vendors are morally depraved persons, real monsters who do not care about any ethical and humane business aspects. They see only revenue. Even child porn, the sickest thing is acceptable for them.

Fortunately, web sites offering YapBrowser for download are already down. However, you cannot rest assured that there will be no other variants of “the child porn browser” created. No matter what you do, just stay away from anything related to YapBrowser and YapSearch. Also do not use any web browsers or other suspicious software, which origin is unknown to you.

This short video shows exactly what YapBrowser does.

I’ve been testing various Linux distributions for the last 3 weeks. With the MS WGA offerings and the relentless assault on MS products, one company calling you a thief and the others trying to steal from you, I’ve ’bout had enough. I support a fair number of older users and younger children users in families and have had enough of taking their money for removing and locking down windows. Suse 10 seems to fill the bill nicely for most of these users and some will start testing this week. The nice thing is, all the mm works just about out of the box, its comes locked down, very little spyware built for it and nearly virus free. For internet work, it beats Windows all to heck. Here is hoping they won’t see any more kiddie porn or spyware pop ups in the future, as writing for Linux just does not pay. At least not yet.

Just for a test I went to winfixer and they tried to d/l a bin file for linux. These people just don’t give up nor miss and opportunity do they?

Thanks for your great work, as always.
