Hi, I have found the article about CerberTear ransomware virus and I want to be sure that my computer is not infected with the real Cerber. Files have .cerber file extensions now, but there is no new desktop picture, only HOW_TO_RESTORE_YOUR_DATA.html file. Can my files be decrypted…?

Most likely your files can be recovered. If the virus did not replace your desktop wallpaper, most likely it was not the real Cerber virus, but CerberTear virus, a foolish copy of it. CerberTear is based on educational ransomware virus' (HiddenTear) code. Luckily, ransomware analysts have released a free decrypter that reportedly works on all versions of HiddenTear. You can find all information about CerberTear ransomware and also a link to download a free decrypter in this post - CerberTear virus. How to remove it and decrypt your files? (Free Guide).
