Mixed — capable, with real trade-offs.

Trustsoft AntiSpyware is an effective, fast and easy-to-use spyware remover with basic set of functions. It was used to scan several computers including already infected systems. The application found all installed parasites and passed all our tests.

The program checks the Windows registry, running processes, cookies and entire file system. A user is allowed to perform configurable scans. Trustsoft AntiSpyware can scan only for known spyware (Quick Scan), search for known spyware and examine objects in the Windows folder or perform full system scan, which involves the analysis of user defined hard disks. On our test computers full scan doesn't take more than 3 minutes. Apparently the program doesn't thoroughly examine content of each file and relies only on its spyware definitions database, which is updated on a regular basis and currently contains over 23,000 pest signatures. Such detection technique allows to easily find known widely spread parasites, but may be quite ineffective against the most recent threats.

Trustsoft AntiSpyware implements real-time protection against browser hijackers. It monitors current browser settings and alerts the user when a hijack is suspected. The program can also restore modified options of Internet Explorer or a Mozilla-compatible web browser.

Program's interface is clean, convenient and user-friendly.

Trial version can be download from the official site. It expires after 14 days.

Although Trustsoft AntiSpyware is a new, legitimate and reliable product, we cannot recommend it. Its predecessor SpyKiller 2005 was a corrupt spyware remover, which produced numerous false positives and was totally ineffective. Its vendor Trustsoft, Inc. was prosecuted by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in June, 2005.
