I clicked on the U tube link on messenger. I did not do anything else, realising it was a hack. It was on an I pad. Do I need to do anything? Is there any anti virus for I pad?

Most of the time, clicking on the link itself does not install any cyber infection. Though, if you have downloaded or installed particular plugins or programs from the corrupted site, your iPad was probably infected with YouTube virus or some version of Facebook Message virus. However, you have to make sure if your device was actually infected by scanning the system with reputable anti-malware software. We recommend using a mobile version of Reimage.
