Received pop up from amazon.com membership rewards and when I closed the box, another box appeared with questions about who started Amazon, what year, etc. I got suspicious and got out, but now it keeps appearing every few minutes. Amazon support was unable to help so I searched and found your site. I am using an iPad as my laptop no longer works. All removal suggestions are for computers, please help me get rid of this pop-up from the iPad. BTW, I didn’t give out my info but since it already has my name, date of birth and address, I thought it was a legitimate notification from Amazon, and Amazon support said it was not coming from Amazon. They had no idea how to help me get rid of this. Can you please help me? Thank you for any assistance or suggestions you can give me. Edith

Your described situation is definetly an example of online scam which can be triggered by adware or other suspicious application that was installed on your iPad. However, virus removal from iPad is almost the same as from iPhone. You have to eliminate the app that may have caused the infection. However, some apps are hard to get rid of or include numerous components that protect it. Additionally, you should consider scanning the device with anti-malware software which is capable of detecting and eliminating cyber threats.
To get rid of the pop-up virus, you can also try these options:
1) Restart your device by holding down the power button until you see "Slide to Power Off". Touch and slide this option to turn off the device. Then turn it on again.
2) Clean browsing history by navigating to Settings > Safari > Clean History and Website Data > tap "Clear" option.
3) Restore iPad to a recent backup by navigating to "Apps & Data" settings and choosing one of the available restore solutions.
4) If none of the previous methods help, you have to perform the factory reset by navigating to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
