There are hundreds of anti-virus products on the market, and sometimes it is hard to choose, especially if you do not know much about how the security software works. However, there are features that speak for themselves - for example, lab tests that are done by independent bodies like AV-Test, AV-Comparatives, Virus Bulletin, and so on.
However, good detection and low false-positive rates are not the only things that most care about, as there are other factors like usability, performance, etc.
The best way to choose a correct anti-virus software is by trying it yourself - but we highly recommend only installing applications from reputable vendors, as the Android anti-virus market is known to be pretty bad in the first place. To be safe, we recommend following the lab test results and choosing brands like Avast, Bitdefender, Norton, Sophos, McAfee, and other reputable vendors. In other words, don't just install anything that comes your way, but don't let adverts fool you either.
