Remove ArcadeLoot ads (Simple Removal Guide)

removal by Alice Woods - - | Type: Adware

What should you know about ArcadeLoot virus?

If you fancy playing online games, you should be aware of ArcadeLoot adware. This ad-supported application is an untrustworthy one, and it is not surprising why computer security experts have quickly stated that it is a potentially unwanted program (PUP). It is advertised via its official website in “Premium” section. This web page provides a lot of free online games, but it has a special section that supposedly contains exclusive games, and not everyone can access it. ArcadeLoot website says that in order to play these games, the user has to agree to receive advertisements. We have to say that these ads are incredibly annoying, as this potentially unwanted program starts generating them as soon as the user launches an Internet browser. These ads can appear in various forms – banners, pop-up and pop-under ads, new tabs, in-text links and so on. You can recognize them rather easily as in most cases they are marked as “powered by ArcadeLoot,” “ads by ArcadeLoot” or “ArcadeLoot ads.

Ads by ArcadeLoot can be extremely annoying

First of all, we have no doubts that you will find these ads annoying. They can appear on your screen at random times, no matter what you are doing – watching a video, playing a game, or shopping online. However, annoyance this adware causes is not the worst thing yet; what is worse is that these ads are unlikely to be trustworthy. This PUP collects some information about the user, including IP address, OS version, search queries on the websites you visit, what programs are running on your computer and so on. It uses this information to deliver relevant advertising, but in reality, these ads are not trustworthy at all. ArcadeLoot’s developers admit that they work with third-party advertising networks; therefore, it becomes clear that this PUP is meant to generate pay-per-click revenue for its authors. We have to disappoint you by telling that not all of ads you might receive are reliable, and in the worst case, clicking on one of them might lead you to untrustworthy or even infectious Internet site. To avoid potential risks to your computer, we advise you not to click on these ads, and if you do, refrain from downloading any kind of content from them or providing your personally identifiable information.

Questions about ArcadeLoot ads

All in all, we assume that the price you have to pay just to get access to these “Premium” games is a bit too big. Therefore, we recommend you to remove ArcadeLoot and play games on another Internet site. To uninstall this ad-supported program, follow instructions given below this article or just use an anti-spyware program like Reimage to uninstall it automatically.

What if you cannot remember installing this program on your computer?

If you cannot remember installing this PUP on your PC, and if you are sure that none of the users who have access to your PC have installed it, it means that ArcadeLoot hijack happened. In other words, you or someone else has installed a software bundle on the computer system, which contained this ad-supported program. Software bundle consists of one popular program (usually a free one) and a few bonus applications. If you tend to install new applications using Default or Standard installation option, you can easily end up installing a bunch of computer programs without even realizing it. Accordingly, you have to take actions and do not let these additional programs enter your PC unnoticeably. It is a very easy thing to do. You just have to set Advanced or Custom settings for installation and remove ticks next to agreements to install “recommended programs.”
