Reasons why you might not want to use search engine from Search.hollyarrow.com site

Search.hollyarrow.com virus is a program to avoid if you like to use a well-known and trustworthy search engine[1]. Once installed, HollyArrow hijacker will change settings in your browser and set Search.hollyarrow.com as homepage address. What is more, the indicated URL will be set as your default new tab page as well. This browser hijacker is designed for Macs[2], so Windows users most likely won’t get affected by it. Despite the innocent appearance, the described URL is not a secure one, because it presents a search engine that generates a mixture of sponsored[3] and organic[4] search results, however, choosing which search result to click on takes time and is simply a useless and time-wasting activity. If you do not want to surf through the sea of hundreds of vague search results, remove Search.hollyarrow.com redirect virus and continue using whatever search engine you used to have before HollyArrow replaced it. On top of that, you might start receiving “special offers” from Hollyarrow in the form of pop-up ads and banners, which will not originate from websites that you visit. These pop-ups will load offers from third-parties, and will also contain links pointing to possibly vague Internet websites. It goes without saying that frequent visits to such sites can come to a sad end.

A second reason to get rid of the indicated search engine is that these sponsored search results are not only annoying. They are also shady because the author of the search engine takes no responsibility for anything that happens on third-party websites that it presents. This statement from Holly Arrow’s Terms of Use document speaks for itself: “Moreover, Hollyarrow is meant to install the Software and the Approved Offers, and as such they aren’t covered by this Agreement, we nor our subsidiaries, officers, affiliates and its licensors, shall never be liable, to the fullest extent possible, for any damage resulting from their actions or use.” In case you decide that you no longer want to use the described search engine, take actions to remove Search.hollyarrow.com hijacker from the system. The removal can be completed manually or automatically. You may want to use Search.hollyarrow.com removal instructions presented below the article or scan your system with anti-spyware software like Reimage or Malwarebytes Anti Malware to get rid of the threat automatically.

How to avoid installing similar potentially unwanted programs?

You can easily keep all potentially unwanted programs away from your device with a simple trick. Do not install new programs in a rush! Users who tend to rush through the installation typically end up installing unwanted pieces of software such as adware, browser toolbars[5], new search tools, and similar apps that basically have no value and are meant to deliver third-party ads to the computer user. To avoid installing unwanted software, users should download computer programs from trustworthy sources, and even if they do so, they should stay alert during the software installation process and choose the right installation settings. If you think that pre-selected options are always the best ones, you are mistaken! You shouldn’t rely on Standard, Basic, Default or any other option that is marked as “Recommended” if you want to avoid installing suspicious freeware. Instead, go for Custom or Advanced mode and configure these settings – simply deselect bundled attachments to avoid installing them on your PC system.
