This alert popped up on my computer yesterday, and i did in fact call the number and let the guy log into my computer. I saw a lot of scanning going on and mentioned several times that i thought this was a scam, i even disconnected from internet only after giving him my email and name. He told me he was going to transfer me to another party to get more info to renew my subscription to Microsoft and then i said no he started closing out windows quickly and hung up. Should i be concerned that he was scanning my computer because he never got any money out of me.? I’m not sure what all this means.
Thanks Marlo

If scammers tricked you into installing some remote access software, you have to uninstall it immediately. Then, get a reputable malware removal software and run a full system scan. You have to make sure that creators of this tech support scam virus haven't installed any malware, spyware or data-stealing trojans. Once it's done, you should change all your passwords and monitor transactions from your banking account. It's unknown what information criminals may have stolen yet. Hopefully, any. However, you should take precautions!
Sincerely,
