Facts that describe Search.searchwos.com browser hijacker

Search.searchwos.com browser hijacker is a controversial program and some people who try using it tend to describe it as Search.searchwos.com virus. In reality, this program is an annoying pest that can attach itself to web browsers and prevent the user from changing some browser settings freely. Although it is not an actual virus, it should not be trusted or kept on the computer system longer than you need to realize that its activity is quite suspicious. If you have already decided that you do not need this hijacker in your life, remove Search.searchwos.com using ReimageIntego or manually.

Questions about Search.searchwos.com virus

Once added to the system, this potentially unwanted program adjusts browser’s settings and inputs Search.searchwos.com value into settings like default New Tab page, Home Page and also default Search Engine. As a result, this website appears whenever user attempts to open the browser, or new tab in it, or search through URL box. This website functions as a search tool because it has a search engine integrated into it. After trying to use it, you will be presented with Yahoo look-alike search results, which are untrustworthy! If you looked at the tab name, you would notice that it says “SaferBrowser Yahoo search results” when the actual Yahoo search results hold “Yahoo search results” name. Beware of these customized search results as they can be filled with deceptive links that lead to dubious-reputation websites that might put your or your computer’s safety at risk. Remember that suspicious third-party sites can contain suspicious downloads, infectious links, or just try to convince you to give away valuable personal information. Avoid visiting such sites, and the best way to bypass them is to switch your homepage to a more reliable address, for example, Google.com. It is not that easy to complete Search.searchwos.com removal manually, so we advise our visitors to rely on an automatic spyware removal tool. You can use ReimageIntego or any other trustworthy program of your choice.

Choose a proper web browser and improve your safety with a VPN tool

Online spying has got momentum in recent years and people are getting more and more interested in how to protect their privacy online. One of the basic means to add a layer of security – choose the most private and secure web browser. Although web browsers can't grant full privacy protection and security, some of them are much better at sandboxing, HTTPS upgrading, active content blocking, tracking blocking, phishing protection, and similar privacy-oriented features. However, if you want true anonymity, we suggest you employ a powerful Private Internet Access VPN – it can encrypt all the traffic that comes and goes out of your computer, preventing tracking completely.

Lost your files? Use data recovery software

While some files located on any computer are replaceable or useless, others can be extremely valuable. Family photos, work documents, school projects – these are types of files that we don't want to lose. Unfortunately, there are many ways how unexpected data loss can occur: power cuts, Blue Screen of Death errors, hardware failures, crypto-malware attack, or even accidental deletion.

To ensure that all the files remain intact, you should prepare regular data backups. You can choose cloud-based or physical copies you could restore from later in case of a disaster. If your backups were lost as well or you never bothered to prepare any, Data Recovery Pro can be your only hope to retrieve your invaluable files.

I think I have infected my computer after using this search engine. I have been greeted with an offer to install some suspicious application while I was exploring search results and now my browser displays pop-up ads for me. I should scan my PC with some antivirus tool I guess. Anybody can recommend which of recommended ones are the best?
