GearScroll virus Removal Guide
What is GearScroll virus?
What is GearScroll?
GearScroll by Super Web LLC is a very unreliable program that you do not need. No matter that it claims that it is capable of improving your browsing experience, we have serious doubts about that. As you can clearly see, this application was developed by a well known company Super Web LLC, which is known for releasing hundreds of different apps. It is notoriously known for producing and publishing similar ad-supported programs that have been acting suspicious. So, there is no surprise that lots of people have started looking for a method that could help them fix their computers and remove these unwanted apps from the system. It seems that the most annoying thing about GearScroll and related applications is that it may cause tons of various ads. These pop-up notifications may inform you about various deals, price comparisons, coupons and similar things. In addition, it may try to redirect your web browser to its affiliate websites that are either trying to increase their page rank or sales. No matter that these sites look harmless, there is no guarantee that each of them is safe. Finally, it seems that GearScroll may try to track every PC user and may collect such things as his/hers search terms, mostly visited websites, data that is entered when visiting these sites and similar information. No matter that this data is considered as personally non-identifiable, you should keep it for yourself.
As you can imagine, GearScroll is one of those programs that have been added to ‘adware’ and a ‘potentially unwanted program’ category. That’s why there are lots of reputable security programs that recognize GearScroll as a potential threat. If this program has already infiltrated your computer without your approval, you should think about its removal. Otherwise, GearScroll may try to track your online activities, flood you with advertisements and redirect you to unsafe websites. This extension is a complete waste of time, therefore, you should remove it as soon as it displays its first ad. For that we highly recommend using FortectIntego.

How can GearScroll hijack my computer?
Although this program is advertised as a legitimate extension for your browser, the reality is totally different. In fact, here is a small quotation from GearScroll end-user license agreement section: “The Software (GearScroll) is supported by various types of advertising displayed in your browser, including, without limitation, search-related ads, banner and video ads, in-text ads and links, transitional, interstitial and full page ads.”. GearScroll virus may travel bundled with numerous freewares, sharewares and other free applications. If you are installing an unfamiliar freeware, try to be more careful and follow the entire installation process. If you fail to notice such unwanted attachments, you may be flooded with GearScroll ads every time when you start your browsing session.

How to prevent from getting adware
Choose a proper web browser and improve your safety with a VPN tool
Online spying has got momentum in recent years and people are getting more and more interested in how to protect their privacy online. One of the basic means to add a layer of security – choose the most private and secure web browser. Although web browsers can't grant full privacy protection and security, some of them are much better at sandboxing, HTTPS upgrading, active content blocking, tracking blocking, phishing protection, and similar privacy-oriented features. However, if you want true anonymity, we suggest you employ a powerful Private Internet Access VPN – it can encrypt all the traffic that comes and goes out of your computer, preventing tracking completely.
Lost your files? Use data recovery software
While some files located on any computer are replaceable or useless, others can be extremely valuable. Family photos, work documents, school projects – these are types of files that we don't want to lose. Unfortunately, there are many ways how unexpected data loss can occur: power cuts, Blue Screen of Death errors, hardware failures, crypto-malware attack, or even accidental deletion.
To ensure that all the files remain intact, you should prepare regular data backups. You can choose cloud-based or physical copies you could restore from later in case of a disaster. If your backups were lost as well or you never bothered to prepare any, Data Recovery Pro can be your only hope to retrieve your invaluable files.
