Adroit System Care is a potentially unwanted program that claims to fix various PC issues
Adroit System Care is a potentially unwanted application that is marketed as a system optimizer that can clean junk, increase speed, and resolve other Windows-related issues.
However, the program also belongs to scareware category, as it shows hundreds of false-positive scan results to intimidate users and make them purchase a license key to allegedly fix issues found by Adroit System Care.
While some users might look for a tool to optimize their device and install Adroit System Care intentionally, most of them will find the dubious app performing scans seemingly out of nowhere. This is because the PUP is usually installed in a bundle together with free software downloaded from third-party sites.
Users who get tricked into purchasing a full version of the program will lose their money, as it will bring no benefit whatsoever. Besides, the PUP might actually damage Windows OS by deleting necessary files or registry keys. Therefore, Adroit System Care removal should be performed immediately, and the full version never purchased.
Even though "Adroit System Care virus" term is not entirely correct, application's deceptive distribution tactics and fake scan results closely link it to tech support scams, which use social engineering techniques in order to deceive novice computer users.
While technical support scams try to make users call the provided number, apps like Adroit System Care and similar scareware simply want to make them spend money on a fake product that does nothing useful for the operating system.
In fact, Adroit System Care might even damage vital Windows files and prevent it from running correctly or, in some cases, corrupt it altogether. Even Microsoft does not approve apps that tamper with system files:
In reality, Windows registry rarely needs user intervention, and apps which claim that regular fixes should be applied are a pure scam.
Adroit System Care is most likely just another creation of PCVARK, a notorious PUP producer. The application looks identical to One Click Speedup, mBytes Clean Pro, mBytes Speedup Pro, One Click Booster, and many others (and it is not a coincidence, as PCVARK is known to use same product and rebrand and re-release it on a regular basis).
Thus, do not trust this scam, as it will not improve your Windows OS speed, neither will it fix anything.

Users install potentially unwanted programs when they pick Recommended installation settings
Despite the popular belief, Recommended or Quick installation settings is not the optimal choice when establishing new applications, especially those acquired from third-party websites.
The truth is, most free programs are ad-sponsored and also relies on revenue provided from software bundling.
Therefore, all allegedly free applications are not actually free - users pay for them by viewing or clicking on ads that are displayed to them. Additionally, freeware authors also get paid each time the user installs the optional program, so it is the developers' best interests to make them use Recommended/Quick settings to hide the optional installs. Additionally, they also use other tricks like misleading button placements or pre-ticked boxes.
Thus, be attentive during the installation of free software. Do not skip through steps by clicking "Next" several times, and always opt for Advanced/Custom settings.

These steps remove it and undo a payment if you made one.
Step 1: Do not pay, and undo a payment if you made one
Nothing that Adroit System Care says it found needs fixing by Adroit System Care. Close its windows and do not enter card details.
If you bought it, contact your bank or card issuer about a dispute and cancel any renewal, keeping the receipt e-mail as evidence. Uninstalling it from Windows 11 or Windows 10 removes the program but leaves the subscription running.

Step 2: Uninstall Adroit System Care
Adroit System Care is removed like any other program, from the list of installed apps. In Windows 11 that is Settings > Apps > Installed apps, in Windows 10 Settings > Apps > Apps & features, and in both you can also use Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Select Adroit System Care, click Uninstall and follow the uninstaller to the end. Then look at the entries just above and below it when the list is sorted by date: bundled programs install at the same minute.

Step 3: Remove it from startup
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager and select Startup apps (Windows 11) or the Startup tab (Windows 10). Disable entries you do not recognise, especially ones with no publisher or with a name that copies a Windows component.
Right-click an entry and choose Open file location to see where it runs from: programs in

Step 4: Delete the folders left behind
Uninstalling often leaves the program's folders, and some threats reinstall themselves from them.
Press Windows + R, type
%LocalAppData%and press Enter, then do the same for%AppData%and %ProgramData%, and look for folders named after Adroit System Care, its publisher or created on the day the problem started.Delete those folders, and check
C:\Program FilesandC:\Program Files (x86)too.If Windows says a file is in use, end it in Task Manager or delete the folder after a restart in Safe Mode. The folders are the same in Windows 11 and Windows 10.

Step 5: Scan the PC, then run the offline scan
A scan finds the parts of Adroit System Care that the manual steps cannot see. In Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Scan options, start a Full scan and quarantine what it reports.
Follow it with Microsoft Defender Antivirus (offline scan) > Scan now, which restarts the PC and checks the disk while Windows and the malware are not running.
It takes about 15 minutes and works the same in Windows 11 and Windows 10. If either scan finds something, run the full scan again after removal until it comes back clean.

Uninstall from Windows
If you want to remove Adroit System Care manually, you should enter Control Panel and terminate the program from there:
Uninstall from Windows 10/8:
- Type Control Panel into the Windows search box and open the result.
- Under Programs, select Uninstall a program.
Uninstall from Windows 7/XP:
- Click on Windows Start > Control Panel (Windows XP users should click on Add/Remove Programs).
- In Control Panel, select Programs > Uninstall a program.
Remove the unwanted program:
- In the Programs and Features window, look for any recently installed suspicious entries, select them, and click Uninstall.
- If User Account Control appears, click Yes to confirm, then complete the removal.

Adroit System Care removal guide
Adroit System Care claims to fix various issues and speeds up the PC.
Unfortunately, scareware-type of applications are a scam, and should never be trusted. Additionally, paying for the licensed version will simply result in money loss and potentially compromised the operating system.
Therefore, do not delay Adroit System Care removal. You should be able to achieve it by going to the control panel and uninstalling the application from there. However, those who are less tech-savvy should probably stick to security software that specializes in PUPs - it can find not only Adroit System Care virus but all the other unwanted programs, as well as malware.
Besides, anti-virus software will not only remove Adroit System Care from your system but will also prevent the installation of similar unwanted programs that are included in the database of the AV vendor.
Questions about Adroit System Care
Can I safely uninstall Adroit System Care?
If you did not install Adroit System Care yourself and it is not part of your hardware or a program you rely on, yes. Uninstalling an unwanted program does not harm Windows.
Before you do, search the exact name and publisher to be sure it is not a driver tool, a printer utility or a game launcher with an odd name. Then remove it from Settings, Apps, Installed apps.
Ignore any offers or warnings in its uninstaller about losing protection or performance. Afterwards check Startup apps and your browsers for leftovers, and restart once to confirm that it does not reinstall itself.
How do I stop programs like Adroit System Care from being installed again?
Most unwanted programs arrive through installers, so the fix is in how you install software. Download programs from their official sites or the Microsoft Store, not from download portals or ads above search results. During setup, choose Custom or Advanced installation and untick every extra offer, including browsers, toolbars and optimizers.
Decline update prompts that appear inside other programs unless you know them. In Windows Security, turn on reputation-based protection and potentially unwanted app blocking. These steps would most likely have stopped Adroit System Care before it reached the app list.
Do I need to reinstall Windows to get rid of Adroit System Care?
Usually not. A thorough clean-up is enough when the offline scan finds nothing afterwards and you do not see adroit System Care in the list of installed apps again. A reset is the safer choice if an attacker had remote control, if security tools were switched off, or if detections come back after every clean-up.
Windows 11 can reset itself without a USB stick under Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC. Copy documents and photos out first and scan the copies. A reset does not change passwords or undo stolen data, so the account steps still apply.
Someone called offering a refund for Adroit System Care. Is it genuine?
Almost certainly not. Refund calls are a well-known second stage of scareware and tech support scams. The caller says you are owed money, asks you to install a remote access program to "process" it, then opens your online banking, makes it look as if too much was refunded and asks you to send the difference back.
Hang up. Real refunds go back to the card or PayPal account you paid with, through your bank or the payment provider, and never need remote access or a gift card.
I called the number from Adroit System Care. What now?
End the call and do not let them reconnect. If they installed a remote-access tool, disconnect the PC from the internet and uninstall that tool from Installed apps. Change passwords for e-mail, banking and anything you typed during the call, using another device.
If you paid, contact the bank today for a chargeback. Report the number to the authorities in your country. The program behind adroit System Care in the list of installed apps still needs removing: follow the plan in this guide, then run a full scan in Windows Security.
Adroit System Care will not uninstall. What can I do?
Close it in Task Manager first, then uninstall it from Settings > Apps > Installed apps (in Windows 10, Apps & features). If it blocks this or restarts itself, start Windows in Safe Mode, where third-party programs do not start automatically, and uninstall from there.
Afterwards run a Microsoft Defender offline scan and delete any leftover folder named after Adroit System Care in C:\Program Files or %AppData%. If nothing works, Windows can be reset while keeping your personal files, which removes the program together with any settings it changed.
Is my card safe after buying Adroit System Care?
Treat it as exposed. The order page belongs to the seller of Adroit System Care, and you cannot know how the number is stored or shared. Ask your bank for a replacement card, which is usually free, and dispute the original charge as a misrepresented product.
Until the new card arrives, check your account daily for small or foreign transactions. If the bank offers alerts for every card payment, turn them on. Keep the receipt and screenshots, because they support the dispute.
Is Windows Security enough to protect me from programs like Adroit System Care?
For most home users, yes, especially with Potentially unwanted app blocking turned on in Windows Security > App & browser control > Reputation-based protection settings. That setting blocks many scareware installers before they run.
No security tool stops every scam, though, because programs like Adroit System Care are usually installed by the user after a frightening message. The habit that helps most is simple: ignore any website or pop-up that claims to have scanned your PC, and never call a number shown in a warning.
What could the caller do while connected to my PC?
Anything you could do. Callers working with fake alerts like Adroit System Care typically show you Windows logs as "proof", install their own remote tool for later, and steer you to online banking or a gift card purchase. Some add a password to Windows or lock the PC if you refuse to pay.
Remove every remote access program you did not install yourself, check Settings > Accounts > Other users for new accounts, and change important passwords from a clean device. If you cannot be sure what was changed, a reset of Windows is the safe choice.
