FreeSoftToday Removal Guide
What is FreeSoftToday?
FreeSoftToday – potentially unwanted program that can take over your browsing
FreeSoftToday is one of these programs with many different labels: some PC security experts identify it as a 'potentially unwanted program' or adware; others say it's a virus. In fact, we can't say that this program is malicious and should be used with extreme carefulness.
However, several things bother us. The most important thing that has made us start thinking about the main aims of this program is its distribution technique. Beware that this application may show up on your computer either with or without your approval.
If you want to avoid its unexpected appearance, you should carefully monitor the installation of the freeware by using the tips that are given below. Also, beware that FreeSoftToday may start causing annoying activity on your computer. After hijacking each of its web browsers, this program may start showing you various banners and popups, labeled as:
- 'ads by FreeSoftToday'
- 'FreeSoftToday ads'
- 'by FreeSoftToday'
- 'brought to you by FreeSoftToday,' etc.
If you have already noticed continuous redirects on your browser, annoying pop-up advertisements, and other unexpected things, you should check your computer for FreeSoftToday because it might be that this program managed to infiltrate it.
Note that it can appear not only on those machines that run Windows OS. It can also show up on machines that run OS X, iOS, and Android. After doing so, it may also initiate tracking of a user's browsing habits. It is known that this program collects information, which is related to people's most visited websites and data that they enter when visiting them.
However, it may also get ability to know what your email address or PC's IP address/location is.
We don't recommend ignoring this. If you want to protect yourself, you should remove FreeSoftToday adware. You can do so with the help of robust anti-malware. If the scan reveals more malicious programs, for example, trojans or rootkits, you should also take care of Windows health with FortectIntego after these threats are eliminated.
Freeware packages include PUPs: be careful when installing new apps
FreeSoftToday is mostly distributed in a bundle with freeware and shareware. In order to avoid this app, you have to pay more attention to the installation process of such programs. Typically, you should find the checkmarks that agree to install various suspicious apps and deselect them.
This can be done by choosing a Custom or Advanced installation method of the freeware and then carefully following every installation step of the freeware. If this program has already infiltrated your machine, we can guess that you see continuous ads that are bothering you and interrupting you during each of your browsing sessions.
Typically, they are filled with information about various offers, coupons, and discounts and then are filled with various links. Be sure that you avoid these links because they may trick you into visiting unknown and suspicious websites. No matter how trustworthy they look, they are displayed only for money-making. We don't recommend leaving FreeSoftToday on the system.
FreeSoftToday can be terminated in a few minutes
If you are still considering whether you should remove FreeSoftToday from your device, you should remember that the app uses insecure Flash Player technology to provide you access to games. Adobe, the developer of the plugin, ceased the support at the start of 2021, which makes usage of it exceptionally unsafe. Flash was frequently abused by malicious actors in the past to deliver all sorts of malware on users' devices automatically.
Thus, do not delay FreeSoftToday removal – you have two options:
- manual
- automatic.
If you choose to uninstall the app manually, you can follow the guide we provide below. If you select the automatic option, simply download a powerful anti-malware tool and perform a full system scan. Regardless of which method you choose, you should definitely clean your web browsers thoroughly – we also explain how in the section below.
You may remove virus damage with a help of FortectIntego. SpyHunter 5Combo Cleaner and Malwarebytes are recommended to detect potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.

How to prevent from getting adware
Protect your privacy – employ a VPN
There are several ways how to make your online time more private – you can access an incognito tab. However, there is no secret that even in this mode, you are tracked for advertising purposes. There is a way to add an extra layer of protection and create a completely anonymous web browsing practice with the help of Private Internet Access VPN. This software reroutes traffic through different servers, thus leaving your IP address and geolocation in disguise. Besides, it is based on a strict no-log policy, meaning that no data will be recorded, leaked, and available for both first and third parties. The combination of a secure web browser and Private Internet Access VPN will let you browse the Internet without a feeling of being spied or targeted by criminals.
No backups? No problem. Use a data recovery tool
If you wonder how data loss can occur, you should not look any further for answers – human errors, malware attacks, hardware failures, power cuts, natural disasters, or even simple negligence. In some cases, lost files are extremely important, and many straight out panic when such an unfortunate course of events happen. Due to this, you should always ensure that you prepare proper data backups on a regular basis.
If you were caught by surprise and did not have any backups to restore your files from, not everything is lost. Data Recovery Pro is one of the leading file recovery solutions you can find on the market – it is likely to restore even lost emails or data located on an external device.
