TsapriSpeedUp is a potentially unwanted program that claims to be a system optimizer, registry fixer, and many other things. It uses deceptive tactics to get users to buy the program. When it scans the computer, it supposedly searches for invalid system entries, invalid startup entries, invalid DLLs, or broken links. The software shows intentional false positives to convince users to purchase the premium version of the program.

The program is promoted through untrusted advertising networks^[1] that place ads on shady websites full of deceptive ads and redirects. The program claims to be able to achieve many things, but in reality, it is a useless program that just pretends to work in order to generate revenue. In recent years there has been a rise in applications that monetize user activity.

The problem is that they are very hard to identify for the average user. Many cannot distinguish the deceptive marketing tactics these developers use and fall into the trap. System optimization tools have long been in the spotlight of controversy. Many experts claim that they just provide a false sense of security for people. Seeing the green bar, and the rising numbers of supposedly removed junk files make people believe their system is faster and performing better after the scan.

PUP or legitimate software?

Although it is very hard for less IT-savvy individuals to differentiate a PUA, there are certain indicators you can look out for. First, you should be aware of where you have seen the program. Many times people infect themselves with adware^[2] and other types of PUAs by browsing through untrusted websites. This usually includes websites that engage in illegal activities because they are unregulated.

Fraudulent marketing strategies for such programs are imminent. Shut down unwanted processes

1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc on your keyboard to open Windows Task Manager.
2. Click on More details.
   
3. Scroll down to Background processes section, and look for anything suspicious.
4. Right-click and select Open file location.
   
5. Go back to the process, right-click and pick End Task.
   
6. Delete the contents of the malicious folder.

Check program Startup

1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc on your keyboard to open Windows Task Manager.
2. Go to Startup tab.
3. Right-click on the suspicious program and pick Disable.
   
   

Remove TsapriSpeedUp from your system

Instructions for Windows 10/8 machines:
