Malware Protection Live gets flagged as a virus

The picture of Malware Protection Line

Malware Protection Live virus functions as a questionable program promoting malware protection services. However, it is not only considered to be a potentially unwanted program (PUP)[1] but sparks suspicions about its relation to viruses. Certain security tools may block access to this domain due to its poor protection against virtual infections. Let us present key arguments why you should remove Malware Protection Line from the device.

This domain does not have a HTTPs protocol — an indicator that a website is properly secured. Its privacy policy is no less alarming as well. Besides collecting non-personal information, the program also keeps a record of users' personal details and shares it with business partners. Though some paragraphs claim that they do not engage in data sharing, the below-statements prove otherwise:

We may provide your Personal Information to specified third parties for sending you promotional e-mails relating to such third parties' products, unless you have requested us not to receive promotional communications from such third parties.

We may provide your Personal Information to third party service providers who work on behalf of or with us to provide the Malware Protection Live Site and Malware Protection Live services. However, these service providers do not have any independent right to share this information (except pursuant to a legal requirement such as a subpoena or warrant).

Further lines even state that your credit card and billing information might be transferred to the third-parties operating on the behalf of Malware Protection Line[2]. Due to such active spying and collection of data, soon not only your privacy will be violated, but you may face more severe consequences. There is no guarantee that such data will not fall into the hands of cyber villains.

The modus operandi of the virus

The malware runs its process called MalwareProtectionClient.exe[3]at a Windows Startup and pretends to be scanning your machine for system threats. In reality, it does not scan your system at all; however, after it “finishes” the fake scan, it displays various pop-up messages, claiming that the device has been severely infected with ample of viruses. In order to remove them, you are advised to purchase the premium version.

Unlike useless PC optimization tools which also tend to alarm uses with fake alerts and urge them to pay money for the useless full edition, Malware Protection Line poses a serious threat to the system as it gets flagged as a virus itself. Therefore, Malware Protection Line removal might be a better choice. Reimage or Malwarebytes Anti Malware helps you perform this procedure faster.

Detecting PUPs on time

Malware Protection Live has just recently started its activity. That is why there are not many PC users who have been tricked into installing it on their computers. However, it is already known distributing via Vuze[4] and Trillian[5]. Though they are not malicious, they are labeled as PUPs.

Alternatively, you can be misled to the official site of this malware tool and download it from there. Note that besides mentioned programs, you may spot the PUP promoted as an add-on to free file converters. In order to stop “Malware Protection Line hijack” on time, choose “Advanced” settings other than “Recommended” and unmark unwanted attachments.

Uninstall Malware Protection Live and remove its cookies

In order to remove Malware Protection Live virus from the PC, you should run a full system scan with updated anti-spyware utility.  You can eliminate the malware by uninstalling it manually as well.

However, our advice is to combine these two methods. After that, it is recommended to eliminate its cookies. Here are manual Malware Protection Live removal guidelines:

  1. Click StartControl Panel → Programs and Features (Apps and Features in Windows 10).
  2. Detect Malware Protection Line and choose Uninstall option.
  3. You might also check for other shady apps present on the list.
  4. After the uninstallation process finishes, scan the device again.

Thanks for the removal guide. I gotta admit it, I was really scared because these alerts just mess up your computer screen. It can really convince you to buy the damn licence key, but it is worthless.

Fantastic! I thought that my PC is kaput, but it seems that it is not! Removed this lying program manually – it took about 2 minutes to do that. Thank you so much for the help!
